This project aims to support unaccompanied asylum seekers integrate into the Scottish culture and bridge the cultural gap. 

 The Need:

 

– Significant number of young people fleeing Sudan due to conflict.
– They’ve experienced multiple traumas during their journey.
– Language barrier challenges, with limited access to interpretation in Sudanese Arabic.

 Programme Delivery: Tailored workshops, both face-to-face and virtual, designed in consultation with stakeholders.

Youth Workshops: example topics to be covered:

  • Understanding the Scottish system
  • Accessing Mental health and support
  • Navigating education and career development
  • Building resilience and mental fitness
  • Connecting with the Sudanese community
 
 Workshops for Caregivers/Support Workers/Guardians:
  • Focus: Enhance understanding of cultural backgrounds and challenges faced by minors.
  • Objective: Support in achieving positive outcomes through deeper cultural awareness.
