Attendees were treated to videos and a presentation about Sudanese cuisine and Sudanese cooking, where and how to shop for ingredients in Scotland, variations across different parts of Sudan. This was topped off with traditional Sudanese food, lovingly prepared and shared together. The shared meal became a moment of quiet reflection, joyful exchange, and bonding – as it sparked memories in some and learning in others. There was also an opportunity for partner organisations to invite relevant attendees to their projects; OpenAye and Hip Hop Hurriya.\u00a0 The event ended on a high note with Sudanese music and dancing. Participants of all ages and backgrounds joined in as we learned some Ceilidh and Sudanese dances and the room came alive with laughter, rhythm, and celebration. It was a beautiful close to an afternoon that honoured resilience, culture, and community.
